Düsseldorf, Germany – trivago, one of the world’s leading hotel meta-searches, announces the creation of trivago Hotel Relations GmbH, a new wholly-owned subsidiary that will foster strong direct relationships with independent hotels. The company will focus on empowering hoteliers around the world to be more competitive online and drive more direct bookings through their hotel websites.
The different requirements of a technological organization and those of a commercial organization inspired the decision to create a dedicated commercial subsidiary that can create its own identity, culture and employer brand: instead of recruiting engineers, the new company aims to recruit the best sales talents from all over the world.
trivago Hotel Relations GmbH, based in Düsseldorf, Germany, will be the entity responsible for trivago’s relations with more than 310,000 hoteliers worldwide. The company starts with more than 160 employees in 21 countries and aims to grow its team in 2018. This aims to accelerate trivago’s efforts to offer travelers more choice and the ability to book directly.
